Payout Settings

Configure merchant-owned payout gateways, confirm automated payout readiness, and set the shop default threshold for partner payout requests.

Last reviewed: Apr 30, 2026UI path: Merchant sidebar → Settings → Payout Settings

When to use this page

  • You need to connect or test the merchant-owned payout gateways for the current shop.
  • You need to change the default payout threshold or confirm whether the shop is actually ready for automated approvals.

Before you start

  • Decide whether payouts will be handled through automated gateways, manual processing, or both.

Success looks like

  • The intended payout methods are enabled and any automated gateways are connected for the current shop.
  • Automated Payout Readiness reflects the real live or test-mode state you expect.
  • The default threshold is saved and understood before partners begin requesting payouts.

Merchant Payout Settings
Merchant Payout SettingsUse the payout settings view to show how merchants review enabled methods, connected automated gateways, threshold controls, and gateway-specific actions.

Step 1.

Open Settings → Payout Settings.

Step 2.

Review Automated Payout Readiness to confirm enabled payout methods, connected automated gateways, and the number of partners currently assigned to unavailable automated methods.

Step 3.

Set the Shop minimum payout amount in Minimum Payout Threshold and use Save Threshold when the default needs to change.

Step 4.

In Stripe (Merchant Account), connect or update the shop's Stripe key in live mode, or run Stripe simulations in test mode.

Step 5.

In PayPal (Merchant Account), connect or update the shop's PayPal credentials in live mode, or run PayPal simulations in test mode.

Settings explained

  • Automated Payout Readiness compares enabled methods with actual connected automated gateways. If Stripe or PayPal is enabled but not connected, the page shows that automated payouts are not ready yet.
  • Connected automated gateways tells you whether Stripe, PayPal, or both are currently usable for approvals. Enabled methods alone do not make the shop ready.
  • Partners on currently unavailable automated methods helps you see how many partners may still be pointed at Stripe or PayPal while that gateway is unavailable for the current shop.
  • Minimum Payout Threshold is the shop-wide default used when partners do not set their own threshold override. Enter 0.00 to allow any-amount payout requests.
  • Stripe (Merchant Account) stores the merchant-owned Stripe key used for partner payout transfers. In live mode you will use Connect Stripe, Update Stripe Key, Test Stripe, and Disconnect. In test mode the credential field is locked and Run Stripe Simulation is available instead.
  • PayPal (Merchant Account) stores the merchant-owned PayPal REST credentials used for partner payouts. In live mode you will use Connect PayPal, Update PayPal Credentials, Test PayPal, and Disconnect. In test mode the credential fields are locked and Run PayPal Simulation is available instead.
  • Test payout mode appears as an info banner when the app is running in test mode. In that state, credential mutation is disabled and Stripe or PayPal checks use internal mock adapters instead of live gateway calls.

Example

A merchant enables Stripe and manual payouts for the shop, connects the live Stripe key, checks that Automated Payout Readiness shows Stripe as connected, and then lowers the shop default threshold before opening payouts to partners.

Tips and limits

  • If Stripe or PayPal is enabled but not connected, the shop is not ready for automated approvals for that method.
  • If partners cannot request payout, check this page before troubleshooting their dashboard because store-level gateway availability is enforced.
  • Use Disconnect only when you intend to stop using that live gateway for the current shop.
  • In test mode, use the simulation controls to confirm the flow. Do not expect live credential updates or live gateway validation there.

Current behavior

  • Test mode shows simulation controls and locks live credential mutation on the merchant gateway panels.
  • Automated readiness is evaluated per shop, including how many partners still point at an unavailable automated method.

Limitations

  • Enabling Stripe or PayPal without connecting that gateway does not make automated payouts available.
  • Disconnecting a gateway can leave partners on an unavailable automated method until you reconnect it or they switch methods.
